I have been experiencing the same type problems ever since the last major patch came in....repeated "connection lost to server" issues not long after logging on. I have also tried everything short of formatting my hard drive to try to resolve this issue (please don't bother suggesting all the things that have circulated the forums....I have tried them ALL).
Let me suggest a temporary solution that might allow you to play until this is resolved by CCP in the future. I have found that, if I go to the command prompt and enter "ping 87.237.38.200 -t" prior to logging on to EVE, I do not lose connection. I leave the ping tracer running in the background the whole time I am playing EVE. Have only disconnected one time in about a week of doing this. Previously, I couldn't play the game for even 5 minutes at a time. I hope this helps you too.
CCP....This appears to be something server-side. I ran two accounts with absolutely NO problems prior to the last major patch. Immediately afterwards, I started having connection and lag issues that have persisted to this day. I had changed nothing on my end. And since then, all the normal suggested fixes and all hardware driver/firmware updates (including bios flash and new router) have not fixed the problem.
I really love this game....Please fix this soon. Thanks.

I am on a broadband cable connection wired by the cable company. I am running in DMZ mode past my router firewall. And besides, as stated in my post, this all began immediately after the patch. This was not a result of things changing on my end. It would be a HUGE coincidence to have ISP problems beginning on exactly the same day as the patch release and persisting to this day.

Renfrew...I appreciate the advice regarding pinging. Haven't heard that before, and I certainly don't want to lead others in a hazardous direction.
I must say though...I don't think you guys are reading all of my original post. I repeat....NO problems before patch....PROBLEMS after patch. No network changes on my end, fellas. This looks like more of the same thing I see on other posts of this subject....quick, easy answers and no real solutions. It's too easy to just say "Oh, you're just having a network issue because I'M not having a problem". I don't buy that.
El Colli...I too have noticed a coincidence of disconnects and server load. I firmly believe this to be on CCP's end, not the end users. Too many peeps say the same thing...that they did not have this problem before the big patch.
If...big If...this is network/ISP related, why are there no fixes posted in the forums? Someone would have figured that one out by now.
I'm all ears....

Hehe...I hear ya.
Thanks for the input and patience. I'm not a tech guru, so problems that get this deep in the connection arena get a bit over my head. I really love this game and it is quite frustrating to not be able to play when I finally get the chance at times. After a year and a half invested in it, I'd hate to have to quit because of this server stuff.

Blood Wake...You are spot on with your assessment. I have been having the exact same issues and, as stated before, this all started when CCP made changes...not with changes on my end. I disagree with Andrue's assertion that we are all suffering from ISP problems. I was running 100% fine on Eve before the last big patch and hardware upgrades. Now, I cannot run the game at all without running PingPlotter in the background constantly. If I try to play without it, I get disconnected from server. I refuse to accept the assumption that my ISP coincidentally made changes at the same exact time as the Eve updates....that just didn't happen.
This is a CCP problem, and one that needs to be addressed soon for its paying customers. I have been corresponding with CCP sending traces, log files, etc. as they have requested with no concrete help to-date. They made the changes....they should be tracking this problem down....not me. Just my opinion.

Owi...You may be a technical guru, but you obviously didn't read all the posts in this thread. You want to try to convince me that my computer (the same computer that connected to Eve with no problems at all and maintained connection prior to the last big patch) just COINCIDENTALLY started having problems on the SAME DAY CCP made changes??!! Give me a break....take you "all your computers are just broken" response and your know-it-all attitude to some other thread please. That doesn't help anyone here.

New patch...and now a new round of server disconnection issues...
There are other threads stating the same thing...this one has just been around since the last big patch created connection issues.
